Marissa is very excited to start her 15th year teaching dance at U-Prep. She enjoys choreographing U-Prep’s musicals and the 2 dance shows the department puts on each year. Marissa stays current with her teaching by attending numerous workshops and conventions throughout the year. Marissa started a dance team here at U-Prep, allowing the dancers to perform at football and basketball halftimes. The dance team also attends competitions around the state, earning numerous recognitions including many overalls awards, placements awards, Judge’s Choice, and Outstanding Leadership just to name a few. This year, the team consists of 25 dancers ranging from 9th-12th grade. Marissa enjoys spending her free time with her two sons, much of that time watching them play sports. Cayden, a senior here at Uprep, plays football and baseball. Colton, a sophomore, plays basketball and baseball. Sports is a huge part of their lives, but the three of them also love traveling to the beach. Currently, there are over 120 students enrolled in the dance department at U-Prep. This year, Marissa will be teaching 6 classes of dance ranging from Dance I-Dance VI. Shelby Stuckey, an alumni of Uprep, will be teaching alongside Marissa this year. |
